Vasundhara Yadav IPS: Age, Husband, UPSC Rank, Family & Posting

Who Is Vasundhara Yadav IPS?

Vasundhara Yadav, whose full name is Yadav Vasundhara Faurebi, is a 2023-batch IPS officer currently serving as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Sattupally, Telangana. Initially allotted the Uttar Pradesh cadre, she later moved to Telangana following marriage.

She gained field experience with the Telangana Greyhounds, the state’s specialised anti-Naxal unit. Her work involves maintaining law and order, overseeing investigations, and handling challenging situations on the ground.

Vasundhara Yadav IPS Age And Date Of Birth: What We Actually Know

Let’s be upfront here: an exact, officially published Vasundhara Yadav IPS date of birth is not something we could verify from a government source. Various unofficial profiles online estimate her age to fall somewhere in her mid-to-late twenties as of 2026, which would be consistent with a 2023-batch officer holding a B.Tech degree and clearing UPSC after multiple attempts.

Here’s the thing about Vasundhara Yadav IPS age — UPSC officers rarely publicise their exact birthdate unless it appears in an official civil list or gazette notification. Until that document surfaces publicly, any number floating around social media should be read as an estimate, not a fact.

Vasundhara Yadav IPS Birth Place And Native Place

Vasundhara Yadav hails from Uttar Pradesh, with her native place identified as Azamgarh district — a region in eastern Uttar Pradesh that has quietly produced a fair number of civil servants over the decades.

Growing up in Azamgarh, she was part of a household where — like a lot of small-town Indian families — education wasn’t optional, it was the plan. That regional culture of pushing kids toward stable, respected government careers shows up again and again in her story.

Vasundhara Yadav IPS Family Background

Details on Vasundhara Yadav IPS family are fairly limited in the public domain — she keeps her personal life private, a smart for someone in law enforcement. What is known is that her family comes from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and that her parents placed heavy emphasis on education despite modest means.

Some reports mention her father wanted her to pursue a career in civil services — a common story among UPSC aspirants from small-town India, where an IAS or IPS badge is often seen as the ultimate family achievement.

Vasundhara Yadav IPS UPSC Rank: The Six-Attempt Story

Multiple reports state she attempted the UPSC Civil Services Examination six times before finally clearing it. That means five setbacks, five rounds of picking herself back up, before the sixth attempt finally worked in 2022, landing her a spot in the IPS through the 76th RR batch.

Her reported Vasundhara Yadav IPS UPSC rank is an All India Rank of around 814 — though, as flagged above, this figure comes from social media posts rather than an official UPSC merit list, so treat it as approximate until verified.

Vasundhara Yadav IPS Husband: The IAS-IPS Power Couple

One of the most searched terms around her name is, unsurprisingly, Vasundhara Yadav IPS husband. She’s married to Ajay Yadav, an IAS officer from the 2023 batch, also posted in the Telangana cadre. Reports indicate the couple married in early 2025, with the wedding ceremony held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh — both families have roots in the state.

Their marriage is a fairly modern civil-services story: two officers from different All India Services (IAS and IPS), from the same home state, both landing in the same adopted cadre.

How The Cadre Transfer Happened

Following the wedding, Vasundhara Yadav applied for an inter-cadre transfer from Uttar Pradesh to Telangana — a standard, rule-based process available to All India Service officers who marry someone posted in a different cadre. Both state governments issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs), and the Ministry of Home Affairs cleared the transfer, moving her officially into the Telangana cadre.

Vasundhara Yadav IPS Current Posting: Life As An ACP In Sattupally

As of late 2025 and into 2026, Vasundhara Yadav IPS current posting is Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Sattupally sub-division (also referred to as Kalluru) of Khammam district, Telangana.

Before this, she was posted with the Greyhounds — Telangana’s elite counter-Naxal force, known for operating in dense forest terrain against left-wing extremist activity.

Her move into district policing in November 2025 marked a shift from specialised paramilitary-style operations to the everyday, high-visibility work of a district-level officer: managing law and order, overseeing crime response, coordinating with local administration, and — as the world found out — handling massive public events.

Vasundhara Yadav IPS Encounters: Setting The Record Straight

Given how the internet works, plenty of people search for Vasundhara Yadav IPS encounters, assuming she’s involved in dramatic shootouts. Here’s the honest answer: there is no publicly verified report of her being part of an armed “encounter” in the traditional crime-reporting sense.

During the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara at Medaram, Telangana’s largest tribal congregation, she was reportedly struck by beer bottles amid crowd chaos while managing security. Rather than step back, she stayed on duty, continued coordinating crowd control, and helped ensure the event — attended by lakhs of devotees — passed off safely.

What Makes Vasundhara Yadav IPS Stand Out?

Having tracked several UPSC and IPS profiles that suddenly go viral, a few things about Vasundhara Yadav IPS genuinely set her apart from the usual “officer goes viral” news cycle:

1. The comeback narrative is real, not manufactured. Six attempts is a long road. Most aspirants quit well before that.
2. Her early posting wasn’t soft. Greyhounds duty in anti-Naxal zones is a demanding, high-risk assignment — not the kind of posting reserved for show.
3. The virality wasn’t staged. She didn’t go viral for a scripted reel; she went viral for staying on duty after getting hurt, and separately, for joining a local cultural moment with genuine warmth.
4. The husband-wife cadre story is a good case study. It’s a clean, real-world example of how inter-cadre transfer rules for married All India Service officers actually work in practice.

Conclusion: The Real Story Behind Vasundhara Yadav IPS

Strip away the viral clips, and Vasundhara Yadav IPS is really a story about persistence — six UPSC attempts, a tough first posting with an anti-Naxal unit, a cadre change built around a genuine partnership with her husband, and a very public moment of staying composed while literally getting hurt on duty.

She’s currently serving as ACP in Sattupally, Khammam district, Telangana, having transferred there from Uttar Pradesh following her 2025 marriage to IAS officer Ajay Yadav. Her exact age and official UPSC rank remain unconfirmed by primary sources as of this writing, so treat those specific numbers with a pinch of salt until an official record surfaces.
